Immigration

Over 51,000 immigrants have made Maine their home.

Some come to Maine in order to find a better life for their families. Others face imminent and real danger in their home country.

Each one has a story to tell.

We’re not here to judge that story. We’re here to make help make their transition a little easier.

Homelessness

Over 4,400 are experiencing homelessness in Maine — that’s around 4% of Mainers!

There are many reasons people become homeless — unexpected life events, mental health, tragedy…

Good Helper Foundation seeks to address homelessness at its roots, with sustainable programs that not only find people homes, but also sustain themselves in the future.

Food Insecurity

Almost 180,000 people struggle with food insecurity in Maine.

Inflation and surging food prices in recent years have caught many off guard.

Good Helper Foundation provides food programs that connect people with supplemental assistance, stock community food pantries, and distribute fresh groceries to those who need it.

Human Rights

In this day and age, you might think that human rights are not up for debate — that everyone is treated equal.

Sadly, that’s not the case.

Throughout its work, Good Helper Foundation hears many stories of inequality, discrimination, and injustice. We strive to address these issues through education and advoacy throughout our community.
