We are happy to say that our recent clothing drive and distribution at the Best Western Hotel on Route 1 in Yarmouth was an amazing success.

Why This Clothing Drive Matters

Our work of helping immigrants acclimate to their new community with advocacy and education is just part of the puzzle.

A lot of work also focuses on the practical, day-to-day needs of our clients. After all, it is hard to focus on learning English or enrolling your children in school when all you have is flip-flops and t-shirts in the middle of January in Maine.

That’s why this community effort was so vital.

So Good Helper Foundation organized its first clothing drive as an organization. During this drive, we received a variety of clothing for adults and children, including coats, boots, sweatshirts, and pants.

The Distribution

Because of the state’s recent efforts to house incoming homeless immigrants in hotels, the Good Helper Foundation was able to centralize its efforts.

The Impact

This distribution was pivotal for many families, giving them the appropriate clothing to carry on with life. Bundled up in warm coats and clothing, they were then able to make it to apartment showings, job interviews, and grocery shopping without danger of exposure to the elements.

We thank everyone who had a part in this important work, from the volunteers who distributed clothing to the thoughtful donors who dropped off a variety of new and used clothes to our facilities.

You made a difference!
