During a period of heightened tension and uncertainty following ICE operations in the Lewiston-Auburn area, many families found themselves overwhelmed by fear and forced into isolation within their own homes. In the face of this distressing situation, GHF stepped forward with a simple yet powerful mission: to bring comfort, dignity, and care to those in need.
Through the rapid mobilization of its Instant Cart initiative, GHF purchased and delivered essential groceries directly to families who were too afraid to leave their homes. This effort ensured that vulnerable individuals could access fresh, healthy food without risking their safety or peace of mind.
In total, 8 adults and 8 children benefited from these home deliveries during a time of extreme stress. For these families, the arrival of nutritious meals at their doorstep represented far more than sustenance—it was a message of solidarity, compassion, and hope.
